been awhile since i wrote anything related to art. i'm currently drawing another concept art piece but it's far from done. but it told me alot of things even with just her face done.

i wanted to give the character an asian look. and it's a bit tough making girl asian eyes since you want it to be big, and round to the point that you can drown in them staring (puppy eyes na hindi?). but to still make it chinky was kinda tough so i looked into real life portraits to help me make them, and that's where it started. i was using hikki (utada hikaru) and BOA as references and it took me around an hour to just get the eyes right. it's probably because i really wanted to copy the eyes exactly but it would end up being too realistic, so i had to compromise the realism to retain the anime look. it was wierd. i really felt like doing a portrait drawing, right then and there hahaha. a full portrait drawing with all the shades of pencils required, not just line art which i had to do.

this will probably be my last concept art for awhile. i need to test how good i can be when it comes to real and complete pieces. wish me luck.
